Chaplain Basic Training (CBT) provides the essential theological, pastoral, and professional framework required for effective chaplaincy in institutional contexts. This foundational course begins with discernment of the call to chaplaincy—examining biblical models of spiritual caregiving, the theology of presence, and the distinction between congregational ministry and institutional service. Students explore the identity, authority, and accountability of a chaplain, developing a clear understanding of vocation, spiritual maturity, and servant leadership. Emphasis is placed on Christ-centered ministry, emotional intelligence, and the disciplined integration of Scripture, prayer, and pastoral sensitivity within diverse environments.
